Aphorism: Concise saying which expresses a general truth
Appropriation: To take possession of another's imagery (or sounds), often without permission, reusing it in a context which differs from its original context, most often in order to examine issues concerning originality or to reveal meaning not previously seen in the original.
Contemporary: Modern, current; pertaining to the present time
Conceptual: Of an idea or concept; pertaining to the forming of a concept or idea
Corporate: Incorporated; common, shared, collective; of or pertaining to a corporation
Discourse: Discussion, dialogue, speech, lecture
Installation art: Term for artworks presented indoors or outdoors, exploiting site specific qualities of space
Narrative: A message that tells the particulars of an act or occurrence or course of events
Semiotics: Study of signs, study of conventional symbols used to denote objects
Site-specific: Artwork that is designed for specific spaces and places, public or private
Symbolism: Expression of an idea by means of symbols (as in art, literature, etc.); system of symbols; symbolic meaning
